August 5, 2008

Delhi High Court lifts ban on SIMI.
Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal welcomed the lifting of ban on SIMI.

August 6, 2008

The ban on SIMI is subsequently stayed by the Supreme Court of India.
Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal and now Congress wants to ban the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

They wanted to remove the ban from on organization which is famous for planting bombs and killing innocent lives and place a ban on an organization which helps the innocent people affected by terrorism and natural calamities.

Based on Supreme Court’s view

“The whole government machinery is corrupt. We may lay down the law, but who will implement it? It has to be done by the clerks. The secretaries and joint secretaries have no guts to go against the clerks. The law is there, the statute is there, but the governments have become non-functional”.

"In India, even God cannot help. He will be a silent spectator as He will also feel helpless".

Comparison RSS vs. SIMI
Philosophy

RSS
The general philosophical outlook of RSS is cultural nationalism known as integral humanism, aimed at revitalizing the spiritual and moral traditions of India. RSS believes that Hinduism is not simply a religion but a way of life. The proclaimed purpose of the organization is "serving the nation and its people in the form of - Bharata Mata (Mother India) and protecting the interests of the People who treat India as their motherland".

SIMI
Its slogan is "Allah is our Lord, Qur’an is our constitution, Muhammad is our leader, Jihad is our way and Shahadah is our desire". SIMI believes that Osama bin Laden is an outstanding example of a true Mujahid, who has undertaken Jihad on behalf of the 'ummah'. They also believe the 9/11 attacks were by Israel's Mossad.

It maintains that the concepts of secularism, democracy and nationalism, keystones of the Indian Constitution, are antithetical to Islam. They aim to restore the supremacy of Islam through the resurrection of the Khilafat, emphasis on the Muslim Ummah and the waging of Jihad .

Activities

The RSS was instrumental in relief efforts after the 1971 Orissa Cyclone and the 1977 Andhra Pradesh Cyclone.

The RSS has also participated in relief efforts in the Indian State of Kashmir, which has been besieged by Islamic terrorism. An RSS-affiliated NGO, Seva Bharati, has adopted 100 children, most of them Muslims, from militancy affected areas of the region to provide them education at least up to Higher Secondary level. They have also taken care of many victims of the Kargil War of 1999.

The RSS assisted in relief efforts quite extensively during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake.

Sewa Bharati has also collaborated with several relief groups, such as the Catholics Bishops Conference of India to conduct relief operations in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. Activities included building shelters for the victims, providing food, clothes and medical necessities. They raised over one crore rupees for the effort in one week after the tsunami.

The RSS assisted relief efforts during the 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake and the subsequent Tsunami.

In 2006, RSS participated in relief efforts to provide basic necessities such as food, milk and potable water to the people of Surat, Gujarat who were affected by massive floods in the region.

SIMI

Mumbai Police arrest three persons from Padgah village and foil a plan that envisaged a series of explosions in Mumbai and Kerala, which was allegedly hatched by the SIMI and Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Maulana Nasiruddin, president of the Tahaffuz Shari'at-e Islam (Protection of Islamic Sharia) and allegedly linked to the SIMI, is arrested from Hyderabad in connection with his suspected links to the murder former Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya.

All eight accused in the Ghatkopar blast case, allegedly cadres of the SIMI, are acquitted by a POTA court in Mumbai due to lack of evidence.

Noor-ul-Hooda, a SIMI activist, was arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in the 2006 Malegaon blasts. Authorities said the bombs used in the blasts were assembled in the garage of "main conspirator" Shabbir at Malegaon.[9] Maharashtra police claims that 2006 Malegaon blasts were the handiwork of ex-SIMI members.[10]

3 men were arrested for the bombing in Mumbai; all three of them are part of SIMI.

A serial blast was carried out in Mumbai, killing around 200 and hurting more than 1000 innocent commuters in the 7 different local train stations within a time gap of 11 min. SIMI has been suspected of carrying out this terror activity with the help of Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan and Kashmir based terrorist organizations (according to US list) like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad.

SIMI under its new name of Indian Mujahidin claimed the responsibility of Bangalore serial bomb blasts.

Just after a day of serial blasts at the IT hub of India, 17 serial blasts ripped the city of Ahmedabad in the western state of Gujarat, for which too the outlawed SIMI or the IM claimed responsibility. Via suicide bombing & targeting hospitals around 40-45 minutes after all other blasts in the city they maximized casualties.
